The SeedTrust Story
SeedTrust was birthed out of a desire to eliminate the stress and frustration that intended parents, surrogates, egg donors and agencies experience with the escrow fund management process.
SeedTrust founder Edward Brockshmidt was a managing partner of his CPA firm that did advisory work for a surrogacy agency. Edward witnessed the agency continually fielding calls from concerned surrogates inquiring about their payments, intended parents requesting their escrow balance and both calling with questions regarding their contract. To make matters worse, the agency was often at the mercy of an escrow company that was typically slow to respond, processed checks only twice a month, and sent an account balance only once a month. Such inefficiencies created tension, stress, and frustration among all parties involved. It wasn’t long before Edward realized the current system was severely antiquated and he set out on a mission to create a process that would ease the load of each party so that clients could focus on the most important thing—building their family.
Edward began developing a technology-enabled solution that would replace the manual processes. However, he knew he could not develop this new platform on his own. Edward also knew that a sound escrow management company would need a lawyer on staff to interpret contracts; and for the peace of mind of both intended parents and surrogates, Edward wanted all funds hold an attorney managed trust account.
Edward reached out to a respected business associate, Roland Salloum, a lawyer with a successful 10-year law practice. Mr. Salloum’s personal five-year struggle with infertility equipped him to understand how expensive and stressful the process can be. The purpose of SeedTrust resonated with Roland, so he wound down his law practice and became Chief Operating Officer General and General Counsel at SeedTrust.
Roland’s warm, caring approach allows him to quickly connect with intended parents and surrogates going through the journey. Mr. Salloum’s expertise was the perfect complement to Mr. Brockshmidt. As a lawyer, Mr. Salloum introduced the contract review and payment summary, and he helped champion version 2.0 of the SeedTrust technology platform.
As Mr. Brockshmidt and Mr. Salloum began to grow the business, they reached out to Mr. Adam Winder, a strategic financial services executive, to join the SeedTrust team to help lead strategy and develop their business model and sales approach. Adam had been consulting SeedTrust since its inception, and after experiencing the personal joy and love of having his first child, Adam fell in love with SeedTrust’s purpose of helping families grow. After a successful, ten-year career in banking, Adam left is corporate strategy role and became a Partner (now President) at SeedTrust. Adam’s business acumen, corporate leadership experience, background in running large financial institutions and knowledge of banking solutions gives SeedTrust another competitive advantage.
SeedTrust’s leaders are passionate professionals focused on providing worry-free escrow services you can trust.
